How is PTO accrual per hour calculated?
Divide annual PTO hours by annual hours worked. For 15 days (120 hours) over 2,080 hours, that's about 0.0577 PTO hours earned per hour worked.
What's a common PTO accrual policy?
Many US employers offer 10–15 days for new employees, increasing with tenure. Accrual can be per hour, per pay period, or granted up front.
Do I have to pay out unused PTO?
It depends on your state and policy. Some states require payout of accrued, unused PTO at termination.
